About MMCA

The MMCA is designed specifically for those working on attaining the Master Municipal Clerk or Certified Clerk of the Board of Supervisors designation. Courses are designed and content is created with the more tenured and experienced municipal and county clerk in mind. Content is applicable and value-added for Clerks to the Board of Supervisors (County), Special District clerks, and City and Deputy Clerks. All gather with the common bond of a desire for lifelong learning, as these professionals continue to lead in their respective fields. The content of the sessions in this Academy are designed at an advanced level.

  • Must have a minimum of three years of continued service as a Clerk of the Board or equivalent as of the date of application. If you do not have three years of continued service, we still encourage you to apply. Applicants with less than three years of service will be considered if there are available funds.

    • Long term goals – Describe your five-year professional goals, such as considering becoming a CCBSA Officer or Mentor; lead a new citizen engagement team; obtain your CCB or CSAC Credential etc.
    • Benefits - Share how this training will benefit your career and your county.

Judging Criteria

The CCBSA Executive Committee will consider all applications and shall base their decision exclusively on the content submitted by applicants.  A simple majority vote of the committee is sufficient to affect each award.

Scholarship Application Process and Award Timelines

Applicants are asked to prepare their materials based on the criteria shown above. Once the application period closes, the Executive Committee will meet, consider all scholarship requests, and confer two scholarships. The President or Vice-President will contact all applicants within two (2) business days of the Executive Committee's determination.

In both cases, the CCBSA President or Vice President will provide Pamela Miller the name of each scholarship award recipient immediately following, or coinciding with, the notification to the award recipient.

Applications are due by Friday, June 11, 2021.
